Just do it. I got involved in nudism only after my first wife died. My first visit to Cypress Cove, I realized that she would have loved it. The people were "real". She hated pretension. She would have felt so at home and I was sorry that I had let the opportunity pass. I had wanted to try it during our married life, but felt like I shouldn't bring the subject up. Don't let that happen to you. She might just love it and thank you for bringing it up.

I am fairly new to naturism. My kids are teens and they havn't been raised in or around naturism. We do have our own pool, but we have never practiced any "family nudism".

Well, I never had to serve 2o0 years, but I know the feeling.

Early in my Christian walk, I was all charged up one night, talking to my wife about some research I was planning that had Christian as well as scientifc ramifications. And the word came down - not an audible voice, but it might as well have been, "NO - you will do no more research till I say so."

Any academic - and a lot of those outside academia - knows what it is to BE in academia, and be cut off from research, and have colleagues know about it. HARD.

Went 4-5 years. I tested it from time to time - to see had the door opened - I couild not. All the skills were there - if a student needed something looked into I could do research FOR SOMEONE ELSE - but not on my stuff, my career.

You hear of people being pulled out of what they are doing, and for whatever good reason set to cool. But 20 years is a looong time.

Jochanaan is a barrel of laughs, but I think there was a bit more to say about the topic and I am more than happy to return to it.

It is not the easiest thing in the world to find a health club that will discreetly rent out to naturists one evening a month, but it's like finding gold when you do.

Until our numbers are much larger, if we can't partner with textile owners of businesses, we are shut out.

We once had a debate as to whether it is easier to rent a city owned pool for a night or a private health club for a night.

Cities are not supposed to discriminate against us, but it is more likely to become public knowledge if they do rent to you and the backlash from wacko textiles can be huge and some cities will find an excuse, any excuse to block you just to avoid the hassle.

Phil,

There is plenty of opportunity for wholesome family naturism in Georgia.

Serendipity Park is great even this late in the year. Paul (the owner) covers the pool on cool nights and it stays swimmable well into October. Not to mention now that it is cooling down, the volleyball, ladder golf and petanque get a lot more comfortable. August was just as hot as it could be.

In the summer folks bring their kids and it is great to see babies, youngsters, teens, couples, a few singles and gray-haired grandparents all enjoying a natural day.

I have visited Paradise Valley and enjoyed playing volleyball, but Serendipity is by far my favorite place.

I have met some very kind and gracious folks at Paradise Valley, but, at Serendipity I have made even more friends. One of my friends from Serendipity was at my workplace one day and I said, "Hey! Do you work here?" He laughed and assured me that he did. We worked in different departments so I had not met him at work until the com...

There was a time when I would have agreed with this statement/analogy. However, I have searched the Pauline epistles and have come to a different conclusion. The Word says that we ARE sanctified (1 Corinthians 6:11). I can’t find any scripture that says we need to do anything to be sanctified or to become more sanctified. Paul address the idea of us being sanctified be our works in Galatians 3:3, “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”. Could the balloon be fuller? The "intelligence and craft" you speak of also "concealed" something even more "beautiful", the handiwork of God Himself. Based on the very verse you chose, in so doing, are not the artists stepping into the place of God by "concealing" the beauty HE created?

Every human creation is the handiwork of God, insofar as it draws out of His creation something that was there potentially to begin with; there is nothing new under the sun. That said, I don't think the body ought to be covered at all times. I merely think that covering the body atcertain times serves real purposes, be they practical or aesthetical.

I am not a pentecostal, but I know better than to say that the Holy Spirit cannot guide you in ways that are beyond human understanding. Let him lead you, let the scriptures serve to confirm (or deny) that the guidance is from above and not from your fleshly desires. I hope that most of us can agree that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much". There's a lot of room for discussion of the implications, but I am merely quoting the book of James (yes, that's in the Bible, right after Hebrews if you are struggling to find it)!

My grandfather had a copy of the Smithsonian Scientific Series, which my mother inherited so that I grew up with it and inherited it in my turn. In volume 2 there is a discussion of the importance of sunlight in healing certain diseases, in which we were given these pictures - oops, no, this won't let me attach a photo. Some other time.

Anyhow, photos of groups of boys - young patients at the J N Adam Memorial hospitalhttp://jnadam.org/ ] playing happily in the woods and in the snow wearing only a loincloth of sorts. Since they are boys playing outdoors and the loincloths are snowy white one can but wonder whether they were put on primarily for the camera.

There are things in my past that I don't tell others about, and I'm sure there are others like that. We cannot be COMPLETELY open and honest about EVERYTHING with everyone. Some people cannot handle the fact that we like to be nude and see nothing wrong with it, when they believe it to be sin or sexual or both.

My second wife divorced me when she found out something about me that she couldn't handle, and she divorced me. Of course, she was a perfectionist, and everything had to be her way. I'm sorry, I'm no angel, and I've done things I regret and have to live with the guilt. The nice thing is that God is forgiving even when people aren't, and He helps us to forgive ourselves.

One difference is that I loved being nude as a child and a teen, indoors and out, but mostly alone. There was some skinny dipping in a local pond with a brother and neighborhood boys. I wasn't taught that nudity was bad; nor was it insinuated. My mother was a prude, and my dad didn't care who saw him nude. He wasn't a nudist--just an exhibitionist in the home. He was also the only person who ever made fun of the size of my penis.

All through school we had gym class and required showers afterward, but no boy ever made fun of me or anyone else. There was at least one boy that I envied.

There is a lot of Greek in post Achaemenid Aramaic, as well as large amounts of Akkadian and Old Persian. Dealing with a dialect cluster along the trade routes that becomes a de facto lingus franca over at least two empires, with tag ends in Egypt and India. Like English, Aramaic was - and still is - very absorbent.

And some of the Greek in Aramaic seriously predates the Pshitta and Christ, but there are spots where you have a technical term unlikely to show up in trader or soldier speech, or where something is simply dragged in without being translated though good lexicon exists. Compare Latin elements in Middle English theological discourse.

When I am around the house, if I am not able to be nude for some reason, I tend to wear as little as possible, usually shorts and sandals. However, I alway trys to stay neat and clean (except when I am working on cars. Then I tend to be a grease magnet. ). However, whenever I go someplace, (apart from the auto parts store or hardware store while working on cars), I dress by whatever the standard dress conventions would be. 'Not a fashion plate, but neat.
