Just do it. I got involved in nudism only after my first wife died. My first visit to Cypress Cove, I realized that she would have loved it. The people were "real". She hated pretension. She would have felt so at home and I was sorry that I had let the opportunity pass. I had wanted to try it during our married life, but felt like I shouldn't bring the subject up. Don't let that happen to you. She might just love it and thank you for bringing it up.

I am fairly new to naturism. My kids are teens and they havn't been raised in or around naturism. We do have our own pool, but we have never practiced any "family nudism".

Gentlemen,

I'm trying to get a handle on your situations so you can use this forum as a back wall to bounce ideas off. Think of it as intellectual racketball.

Do both of you have young kids?
Are they still at an age where they peel off their clothes before bath time and prance around the living room in the nude?
Are they at the bashful stage yet? (Most kids go through that phase)

Do either of you have pools or hot tubs? Other places in the house where nudity would not be such a shocker? Some families take a bath and walk nude to their bedrooms.

In my family, Dad bathed with boys when we were small (our tub was fairly big), Mom and Dad bathed together with bathroom door half open. My parents bathed us two boys with female cousins when they were in town.

I know of one family where the kids, (preschool and early elementary age) played nude in the back yard all summer, sometimes dashing into the front yard when they thought no one was around. My job with the city took me to their ...

And pretty much ditto again, except that my wife seriously dislikes being nude. She knows that I have inclinations that way that I have acted on, but I suspect it would bother her if I put it into practice in her presence.

Well, I never had to serve 2o0 years, but I know the feeling.

Early in my Christian walk, I was all charged up one night, talking to my wife about some research I was planning that had Christian as well as scientifc ramifications. And the word came down - not an audible voice, but it might as well have been, "NO - you will do no more research till I say so."

Any academic - and a lot of those outside academia - knows what it is to BE in academia, and be cut off from research, and have colleagues know about it. HARD.

Went 4-5 years. I tested it from time to time - to see had the door opened - I couild not. All the skills were there - if a student needed something looked into I could do research FOR SOMEONE ELSE - but not on my stuff, my career.

You hear of people being pulled out of what they are doing, and for whatever good reason set to cool. But 20 years is a looong time.

Jochanaan is a barrel of laughs, but I think there was a bit more to say about the topic and I am more than happy to return to it.

It is not the easiest thing in the world to find a health club that will discreetly rent out to naturists one evening a month, but it's like finding gold when you do.

Until our numbers are much larger, if we can't partner with textile owners of businesses, we are shut out.

We once had a debate as to whether it is easier to rent a city owned pool for a night or a private health club for a night.

Cities are not supposed to discriminate against us, but it is more likely to become public knowledge if they do rent to you and the backlash from wacko textiles can be huge and some cities will find an excuse, any excuse to block you just to avoid the hassle.

There is plenty of opportunity for wholesome family naturism in Georgia.

Serendipity Park is great even this late in the year. Paul (the owner) covers the pool on cool nights and it stays swimmable well into October. Not to mention now that it is cooling down, the volleyball, ladder golf and petanque get a lot more comfortable. August was just as hot as it could be.

In the summer folks bring their kids and it is great to see babies, youngsters, teens, couples, a few singles and gray-haired grandparents all enjoying a natural day.

I have visited Paradise Valley and enjoyed playing volleyball, but Serendipity is by far my favorite place.

I have met some very kind and gracious folks at Paradise Valley, but, at Serendipity I have made even more friends. One of my friends from Serendipity was at my workplace one day and I said, "Hey! Do you work here?" He laughed and assured me that he did. We worked in different departments so I had not met him at work until the com...

I suppose the answer to that is, yes, yes I am. When I was younger and growing up, I always liked to play naked, even outside. Most of the time it was by myself. As I got older, I started sleeping nude and being nude as much as possible. I was not raised in a nudist home, so I had to do it secretly. After getting married and having children, that has had to come to a stop, unless I am by myself. My wife has mixed feelings about nudity. Sometimes she'll sleep that way, but she has now problem with me sleeping nude. A couple of times she tried it with me when the kids were away at grandma's house and we were by ourselves, but just can't get comfortalbe with it. But any chance I can, my clothes are off. I haven't tried social nudism, yet, but I would like to try it sometime.

From the time I was born until the late '60's, I was raised in a Lutheran church, from which I learned alot of the basic tenents, rites, Bible stories, hymns from Sunday School and church. When my parents moved to another part of Iowa, we attended a Methodist church, where I first really heard about my need for a savior. It was the summer of my 16th year, that I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior. About 3 years later, I followed Him in water baptism at a Christian music festival. Later that same year, I was led to move to Texas to be with my parents and siblings, who had moved there earlier. While there, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, was sent by God to Bible College in Dallas for a year, until God called me back to the south of Texas where I was used by God in service to Him in many areas, mainly children's ministry and teaching.

My first wife was very open to the charismatic movement. We went to several charismatic meetings and worshiped regularly with a charismatic Methidost congregation. But we never joined officially. We stayed with our Baptist congregation. Even went on a retreat (Walk to Emmaus) weekend and were very involved with that wonderful family. But she developed breast cancer and after a 40 month battle died. I stayed active with the group for a while, but then dropped out. I've since remarried to a very non charismatic woman, and I've dropped out altogether. I'm poorer for it.

Praireboy, I've been reading FLF since issue #1. Actually, now that I think about it, I started on about issue 6 or 7. I then went back and ordered the earlier ones. At any rate, I've been on their list a long time. It's a good Christian viewpoint. Thanks for the recommendation.

The "intelligence and craft" you speak of also "concealed" something even more "beautiful", the handiwork of God Himself. Based on the very verse you chose, in so doing, are not the artists stepping into the place of God by "concealing" the beauty HE created?

Every human creation is the handiwork of God, insofar as it draws out of His creation something that was there potentially to begin with; there is nothing new under the sun. I am not a pentecostal, but I know better than to say that the Holy Spirit cannot guide you in ways that are beyond human understanding. Let him lead you, let the scriptures serve to confirm (or deny) that the guidance is from above and not from your fleshly desires. I hope that most of us can agree that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much". There's a lot of room for discussion of the implications, but I am merely quoting the book of James (yes, that's in the Bible, right after Hebrews if you are struggling to find it)!

Also, while I know that many, maybe most, won't agree with me, I find that praying in the spirit is a tremendous benefit to my Christian walk. For one, the prayer is always correct to God's will for the situation, and secondly, I often receive insight as to how to respond or deal with a specific situation. And according to Paul, I always build myself up in faith.
