Thank you, Petros.

Praying for answers to arrive today (as we have been doing daily).

We are waiting for the roar!

The signed contract and all necessary forms have been sent in to the "new" local mortgage company we're relying on. The girl (or "mortgage loan specialist") told us the only thing FHA questioned her about our property was how close we are to the nearest gas station and its underground storage tanks. Thankfully, we're a safe enough distance away.

Today will be spent painting the doorways, sawing up an unsightly pile of firewood, and hopefully removing some leaves in anticipation of the next visit from the appraiser.

One redundant step at a time... until the roar is heard... the prayers are truly appreciated...

Or, as has often been the case in my life, it's a subtle thing that makes you look back and realize how He has been working behind the scenes, placing pieces here and there that we don't recognize at the time but then finally see when they come together before our very eyes. Imagine what went through Joseph's mind when he went "from zero to hero" in a land where he probably least expected it. "What you meant for bad, God meant for good" is what he later told his brothers.

Praying on!

Has it really been this long since an update?!?!?

We finally have a settlement date - this coming Tuesday, April 10, at 10:00 am!

Thank you all for keeping us in prayer!

All I can say is, THANK YOU, JESUS!!!

(alright, I'll add more...)

Our settlement went smoothly beyond imagination on Tuesday, April 10. The seller, which is the attorney representing the nursing home in Florida who benefits from the sale of the house, is based in Harrisburg, PA, and was not there for the closing. So, it was simply the title company lady, our attorney/trusted friend from church (with a great sense of humor), my wife, & myself. We are now the owners of the home of the lady I knew since 1989 who supported me prayerfully through many painful trials and experiences. I know for a fact she is not only resting in peace, but spending eternity in the presence of her Savior. We remain very grateful for her friendship, and now her previous residence.

All that's left is to acquire a CO detector and a small fire extinguisher, so that the township can issue us a Smoke Detector Certificate (another $40 out of pocket).

Smoke detectors are great. How else would you know dinner's ready?

Around our place, when the smoke detector goes supper isn't ready quite yet.

Enjoy every meal in the new place!

When the smoke detector goes off, I hope it was your own cooking and not your wife's.

Actually, last night she thought the kitchen was too smoky, opened up to let it out - and inadvertently let the one of our dogs that is always Great Escape minded get away. We got him back, not without work.

The food was not burned, just a slightly too hot pan under constant surveillance.
