Naked man a good guy

Residents got a nude awakening early Monday after they were woken by a screaming, naked man in an alley. But the RCMP say the unclothed man was "the good guy."

The man was yelling for police assistance after chasing a would-be robber from his home.

"He didn't stop to put on his shoes or his pants," said Const. Ted Manchulenko.

The man's girlfriend "awakened to a man standing over her in her bedroom," Manchulenko said.

When the perpetrator fled the bedroom, he ran into the woman's boyfriend, "and the chase (was) on," Manchulenko said.

The boyfriend chased the man out of the house and down an alley.

"And the boyfriend (succeeded) in waking up the rest of the neighbourhood, so we get a complaint from someone else about a male in the alley, naked and screaming."

Police say it was too dark to get a description of the intruder.

Let this be a lesson to us all: When an intruder enters your home, for best results, chase them while naked, thereby getting attention from neighbors enough for the cops to be called! Maybe, Greg.

Don't underestimate the intimidation factor of a naked man, yelling, etc. --it really is quite disarming to most folks to see a naked man, who stands before them unafraid, and unashamed. I have often said that any intruder here at our house will have a very rude awakening--a naked man, brandishing a shot gun, and commanding 2 rottweiler dogs 8) --that would be enough to make almost anyone think twice about doing something.

I think the shotgun and the dog would be enough to deter most reasonable people. Sometimes more intimidation is necessary :P

I am reminded of the story printed in our local paper a year or so ago...

A man, home alone, awoke to his house burning. He ran outside to the front lawn and safety. Some neighbors came out to see what was going on. The man realised he was naked, so ran back inside to retrieve a garment from his closet. The man never returned outside. Firefighters arrived and went in to find him. He was dead.

Yes, so sad to die just to avoid being embarrassed.

Do you file that under the "Cost of vanity", under the "Cost of modesty" or under the "Cost of stupidity"? :?
