I thought this was worth sharing.

Giraffe stream flagged on YouTube for 'nudity & sexual content', park says

Millions of people have been watching and waiting with anticipation to witness the birth of a baby giraffe at Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, NY.

The park set up a webcam in order to share the precious and educational moment with the world. Park officials in a little more than 12 hours they've seen between 20-30 million views.

April the giraffe is 15-years-old and is expecting a calf with her mate, Oliver. Park officials say April could give birth at any moment, but now the world might not get to see it.

Park officials say YouTube has pulled their live stream due to "pornographic content.

"For the millions of you that have been tuning in to take witness to this educational experience, a live giraffe birth, there are a handful of extremists and animal rights activists that may not agree with us, and that's okay, but have unfortunately reported our YouTube cam as sexually explicit or nude content, which has made for its removal," park officials said on Facebook Live.

According to YouTube's guidelines:

"Sexually explicit content like pornography is not allowed. Videos containing fetish content will be removed or age-restricted depending on the severity of the act in question. In most cases, violent, graphic, or humiliating fetishes are not allowed to be shown on YouTube."

The announcement seemed to have many viewers puzzled. One person commented, "Does this mean the animals in the zoo will soon be wearing cloths?"

Once the stream is back up we will continue to bring you coverage of the giraffe birth on fox46charlotte.com and on Facebook.
In nuditate veritas.

Well, well! Does that mean I was involved in pornography at age 12 or so when I watched my stepfather pull calves out of their mothers?! Funny, I didn't see it that way then.

No ha wan, did you even know the definition of pornography back then?

Things are getting ridiculous in terms of what is considered inappropriate and what must be blocked from viewing.

Apparently, these extremists haven't watched the National Geographic Channel in a while. Don't want to watch a giraffe give birth? Then just turn it off, if you think it's so...

I wonder if someone complained, like the people who demonstrate in the nude because they disagree with wearing clothes made out of fur and leather?

I think this does show a real issue in modern society. We are far removed from the natural processes of life (and death). When lots/most people lived on farms, they were well acquainted with how babies are made, how they are born, slaughtering animals, and many other intimate details of life. Now we buy our food in a package from a store with zero knowledge of how it got there.

If you told a farmer that watching animals be born was "pornographic" he'd laugh in your face and tell you you're sick.

Just to put a lot of this stuff into perspective, it is amazing how consumed we are with first world problems...

I sorta remember (years ago) seeing on TV, an African animal (grass eating type) laying down giving birth, as lions attacked at the most volital time, killing and eating both. I guess that would have to be removed from viewing today for result of sexual content, and violence.
Maybe they need to have classes for the lions, so they will not be so violent.

If you have not noticed, everything is becoming extreme. We are extremely for something, or we are extremely against it. The middle ground is disappearing.

Sex in the animal kingdom is the means God chose to perpetuate the living creatures we share the planet with.
It saddens me to think that witnessing the wonder of new life in our barns or on safari should be regarded as a fetish.

Naturism is about non-sexual social interaction, but it also teaches acceptance of sexual union in animals and humans.
We should rejoice when our family grows; we should rejoice when our herd grows.

We can be comfortable with our sexual organs and with sex itself, while keeping sexual activity private.
And surely we can learn to celebrate birth and procreation in the animal kingdom.
It should be an innocent joy, not an object of lechery and perversion.

I just figured, when I heard about it, that it was a protest against the captivity of animals. Removing an educational experience from the public to protest animal rights makes as much sense as blocking traffic to protest the president. It is just disruption, that was my thought when I heard of it, for what it's worth.
