How do you get an avatar?

An avatar is an image or picture of something that you think represents you or your personality. If you can see mine, the Bible and olive branches, it represents my life long goal to teach others about Jesus and all the life instructions found in the Bible.

There is a library of images you can select from or search the web for something you like. There are size limits that can not be exceeded when used here at the Village.

Yeah. My avatar is a video of me at my work. That is precisely what I do every day. Fortunately it is a silent avatar so that you can't hear what I am screaming at the computer while I bang my head. (JK).

My avatar, of course, is me here in Gulf Coast Nudist Resort where I live full time. It was taken last fall. It's a rough life, but someone has to do it.

You go into your profile and click on "edit avatar", then click on "browse" and find your pictures (if you have any) and choose the one you want, or you can just choose one from the ones furnished here, if you're not comfortable showing your face online. I'm in Web sites that don't have the "browse" feature, and I won't use anything but my own photo. Nothing else is "me".

jude, I was able to change mine. I used a photo and not from the site files. Good luck. Take some photos and use one of them. If they are too big I use shrinkpictures.com to reduce mine to fit.

Could it be a permission setting where you can't upload one until X post?

When I try to upload a picture as avatar, I am told that it is disabled. Can someone explain?

What are the limits as to file type. Just really started using Ubuntu for changing some of my photos and fail to load as an avatar :argh:

BTW, is there a way to reset the last day on, and how is the gallery doing?

If you're after the file types, you can use jpg, jpeg, gif, png. If you're after size, the max size is 120 x 120 pixels. If you're still having problems email me the avatar you want and I'll add it in for you.

I am just working on reducing the size of my photograph; then, hopefully, my image will appear.

So I've also been trying to download a photo for my avatar. So its way to big, I see in one of these posts to use shrinkpictures.com, but after I use that on their page my photo doesn't come up so I can download it. Done it a couple of times, but no luck.

If you are running any version of Microsoft Windows, you can use PC Paint (Or Paint) to resize an image.

It is usually found under Start/Programs/Accessories.

If that doesn't work, you can email me a copy of your image and I will resize it for you.
