Question regarding minors and photography

Postby Galaxies » Wed Jun 25, 2014 11:43 pm

Hi there. I'm 14 and was wondering for if I do want to post pictures in the future what the rules are regarding minors and nudity in pictures.

Forgot to mention this. If I do end up posting pictures, it won't be a bunch of close ups of my junk. It will be a legit picture that may or may not picture genitals.

I'm not a moderator, but IMHO, pictures not showing your genitals would be safest. Even if _you_ don't mind them being shown, if naked pictures of a minor end up on someone else's computer, they could be charged with possession of child pornography.

If you do submit pictures of yourself, Galaxies, perhaps for now it would be best to include your parents or some other adult in the pictures to emphasize their family-friendly nature. I don't like the restriction either, but given societal tendencies now, that's safest. In a few years when you're 18, it won't matter. :)

Actually, that varies from country to country and state to state.

Most areas require that the minor be shown in some sexual activity to be considered "child porn", not merely nude.

Galaxies, as the owner and primary moderator, I would appreciate it if you do not post photos of yourself that are full-frontal nudes until you are 18, and then, realize that, while we do not allow searchbots in the photo albums, we do allow them in the forums, which means that whatever avatar you choose may be found doing an internet search.
