For - perhaps two weeks? - when I try to sign on using the Opera browser I am rejected. Somehow name and or password are garbled. Any ideas?

Do you have the same problem with other browsers, or is Opera the only browser you have on your system?

If it only happens in Opera, you may try removing or disabling add-ons and/or extensions to see if that eliminates the problem.

If it is across all browsers, you may have a keyboard driver issue or a virus.

I need to do more research.

Opera on machine 1 - NOT operative pun intended.
On machine 2 works,

Firefox works on both. I shall explore further. If I find a factor I shall report.

If windows You can always do the standard things, like full power off reboot and deinstalled opera and reinstall.
If windows 10 burn the machine. :dizzy: Done a lot of research and testing on 10 and will report separately.

I usually wait 12 to 18 months before trying a new version of Windows. Hopefully by then they have gotten past MOST of the major bugs.

Not this one. They are making major changes to keep their cash flow more constant. Also with the 'free upgrade' they are going to sell Massive amounts of other software. Will have my full review out soon.

If you are talking "software as a service", there will be many who resist having to make monthly payments to Microsoft to keep Windows or MS Office from shutting down.

Linux keeps improving and looks like a viable alternative for many of us.

I already prefer Libre Office

More than just the software subscription issue. 10 has followed 8 in making 'non-current' software unusable, therefor forcing people to replace software that was working perfectly on non 8 or 10 machine. Example of this is MS Office 2003, which is a good product, but when loaded on 10, is unable to open or save data to/from storage making it unusable.

The oddity seems to have resolved itself - no idea what happened, of course.

Perhaps a mid-stream update.

Windows is famous for that. The update is installed and things don't work well until a reboot or restart occurs.

I do not know if the same is true for Apple products.

I notice that every time I get a Windows update, Adobe and Java have to "re-update", usually to the same revision level they were before the Windows update. :?

The director probably hired a new cast and orchestra.
