Mobile-friendly version?

Postby jochanaan » Fri Sep 18, 2015 11:32 am

I was just wondering how much time, effort and finance it would take to make a mobile-friendly format for CNV? If too much, that's all right, but right now the only "computer" I have consistent access to is my cell phone...

I access the site from my cellphone and tablet all the time. I do not particularly find it hard to navigate, but entering and editing text is a bit of a strain.

What features would you like to see more "mobile"?

so many times I request the desktop version of a site when on my phone. too many sites give the mobile version as a stripped down view that misses features that are regularly used.

I'm on my cell phone right now. Yep, typing is more difficult than a standard keyboard but I manage.

Based on some of the topics we discuss here, I'm not to sure that "voice activation" would be safe for the office. :?

What I find slightly difficult is the amount of scrolling both ways one has to do on a mobile phone. If there is any way to reduce the screen width when using a mobile browser...

Jochanaan, try turning your phone from vertical to horizintal to expand page width. Scrolling vertically remains an issue but the screen's the issue, not the site IMO.

I have a forum I setup for some buddies at work and I use it with the phpbb "Flat Style" theme and it works well on a mobile phone. No side to side scrolling at all.
