Statement of Faith

Postby SiteAdmin » Sun May 21, 2006 12:41 pm

We believe in the one true God as revealed in the Holy Bible, and manifested to the world through Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe there is no other true God besides this Divine Being. (Deut. 6:4; John 1:18; 15:26)

We believe God is the Creator of all things, in the heavens above us and on the earth below us. (Gen. 1:1-2:3)

We believe that all people are divinely created in God's own image, and their unclothed forms are covered and blessed in His righteousness. (Gen. 1:27-31; 2:25; Rom. 13:14)

We believe that the naked human form is inherently good and wholesome, and bears no shame. (Gen 1:26-31, Gen 2:25)

We believe God provided clothing for humankind, not as a punishment for their sin, but as a compassionate act, providing a cover in inclement weather, protection from the thorns and thistles of this life (i.e., dangerous work), and where necessary to assist in establishing personal boundaries where sin abounds (Gen. 3:21)

We believe all people have sinned and continue to fall short of the glory God intended for us. (Rom. 3:23)

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God the Father. (John 3:16)

We believe He was born of the Virgin Mary. (Matt. 1:18-25)

We believe He lived a sinless life, and serves as an example for us all. (tempted, yet without sin; Heb. 4:15)

We believe He was crucified and died to pay the penalty of our sins that we could not pay. (Eph. 1:7)

We believe Jesus' body rested in a tomb, buried for three days and rose again, triumphing over death, so we might know fullness of life. (Luke 24:7)

We believe Jesus ascended into Heaven and rules at the right hand of the Father. (Mark 16:9)

We believe that all who believe in Jesus, and know Him as their personal Savior, will be saved from eternal separation from God, and will join Him in Heaven when they die. (John 3:36)

We believe Jesus calls all who follow him to grow in grace, becoming evermore like Jesus. (2 Peter 3:18 )

We believe in the Holy Spirit, sent from Heaven by Jesus Christ as the Comforter, to indwell all believers and help them as they become more like Christ and abide within them until He comes again for those who long for his appearing. (John 14:26)

We believe that all who trust Jesus as their Savior are bonded together into a spiritual body, called the Church. (1 Cor. 12:12)

We believe that all church organizations formed in Jesus' name have value, but cannot take the place of the spiritual union wrought by the Holy Spirit in the hearts of all Christian believers. (Eph. 4:4-6)

We believe that all Christian believers are directed to introduce people to Jesus, and walk with them as they seek God's truth through Him. (Matt. 28:19-20)

We believe that Jesus will return to earth again, to reclaim all true Christian believers and bring final judgment and restoration to the earth. We eagerly long for that soon appearing of our Lord. (Matt. 24:30-31)
Happiness is neither within us only, or without us; it is the union of ourselves with God.
