SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (2008-05-19) Are you comfortable getting naked in public? Tamrika welcomes Naked Jen and Michael Martindale to talk about naturism in Utah. We discuss body shame, sexuality, spirituality and the growing community of naturists in Utah. We also address the issue of child pornography and the responsibility parents have in protecting children from predators. We also ask, can you be a good Mormon and also be a good naturist?

Hi, Nathan –
a most interesting interview, presenting quite a positive view of naturism.
It did take me a few days, though, to download the broadcast and then listen to it – several times my computer froze halfway through either downloading it or playing.
The one thing that did bother me is that the radio station presents itself as putting forward a positive view of the “gay and lesbian” community. But this did not come across in the actual interview with Naked Jen and Michael Martindale.

I believe that the station is what is known here as "public radio" and is Federally and privately funded. As a result, even in a place as conservative as Utah (Mormon/Latter Day Saints), they tend to present some rather unconventional ideas.

Hi, folks –
another aspect of that broadcast that concerned me was the way the Utah justice system just bulldozed over Mike’s friend’s rights and threw him in jail for a non-offence.
He really ought to take the matter to a federal court and sue the state for wrongful arrest, false conviction and loss of income during his years of incarceration.
And it should be made a cause celebre that will embarrass the state of Utah into rethinking its ridiculous interpretation of the law.
It not only makes the state a laughing stock, but it puts it in company with Red China and the (thankfully extinct) Soviet Union.
Also there was the insinuation by one of the callers that pædophiles would be attracted to naturist venues to molest children.
These sick individuals go wherever there are vulnerable children who might fall for their lies and deceoptions, and naturist venues are poor pickings for them.
They are more likely to target clothed children, however much they want their victims to take their clothes off.
