How do we protect our children.

First it was pornography, then it was homosexuality, then the zoophiles got into the act, and now it is the pedophiles turn. There is now an advocacy group called B4U-ACT trying to convince us that we should decriminalize pedophilia! On their web page they state "We see minor-attracted people ..... not as criminals or “deviants' " They have a website at http://www.B4U-ACT.org .

The scenario is the same, alter the language (you will not find the word pedophile on their home page the closest thing is "minor-attracted people" and you will find statements like, "We see minor-attracted people as whole human beings ...." Of course this is cleverly used in a sentance where the meaning (for the moment) can be argued to mean something other than complete and healthy, but I wonder how long before that is shaded into meaning "complete and healthy, just different". Well they are not whole people! They are people who are missing a moral compass suitable to reject that which is specifically wrong, and so seriously wrong that it is regarded almost universally as a crime. The entire flavor of the web page is all about being compassionate and non-judgmental. So the progression goes, - Alter the language - plea for compassion - decriminalize - protect the perpetrators by law - etc. As one commentator wrote, " Can a pedophile pride day be far away?".

Here endeth my rant for the day while I can still post an opinion without it being classed as hate speech.

Oh, did I leave one step out, step # 0? Organize quietly before you come out publicly, they were chartered as a 501 c-3 tax exempt non-profit organization in 2003.

This is an important matter to naturists because people and societies that are too dumb to see the sexual exploitation of others against their will as a crime, will likewise be too dumb to see that naturists have no desire to exploit anyone and are in fact highly protective of others.

This is a sad fact of our culture. Good things are seen as intolerant and evil and truely evil things as enlightened, compassionate and tolerant. There is no quick easy fix to this. We need to pray and cry out to God to work in peoples hearts or it will only get worse.

Short answer - speak out and stand up against this and other deviant behavior. If we fail to act then devacy will be allowed to beccome even more mainstream than it already is. Calls for tolerance don'tt mean the cause is just.

I don't expect that acting on pedophilic urges will become legal, but the legitimate outrage this movement generates may create a negative backlash against naturist families.

If this stuff whips the public into a frenzy, then ill-considered laws may be passed.

Witness the banning of children from Hippie Hollow county park near Austin Texas.
Rather than provide adequate law enforcement, the county found it simpler to ban children and thus make naturism an "adult only" activity in Travis County, Texas.

I know times are hard for many of us, but please be sure to donate to Naturist Action Committee if at all possible.

I agree with you, Ramblinman about the possible (should I say probable:) overeaction of the Nanny State to protect children. Parents should take charge and prtect their children, without undue interference from so-called "do gooders" who want to protect every deviant out there, regardless of their deviancy, as long as they or their familes aren't affected by those whose rights they seek to protect. I am not one of these people that believes that all criminals need to spend years in jail.
Most of them who are non-violent offenders would probably be better doing penance outside prison bars.
(and no, I am not talking about cushy community service, but honest hard labor!

However, certain incorrigible and violent criminals are best kept locked up for life if not executed for their crimes.
The rate of recidivism is so high for sex offenders that I believe that they should never have an unsupervised moment in their life.
If that means life behind bars, then so be it!

I too hate the nanny state concept, but having plenty of cops or park rangers at a nude beach is NOT nanny state.
Banning kids is nanny state!

The trouble with anti-nudity responses is that they criminalize the wrong people. If we had a sane society (yeah, right! ), we'd go after the perps and leave the naked innocents alone!
