And that is one of the distinctives. Christianity is not designed for nationalism but universality - Jesus disappointed his brothers and others precisely because he was not into working the crowd.
The truth, the stark naked truth, the truth without so much as a loincloth on, should surely be the investigator's sole aim - Basil Chamberlain

I like to ponder the wonder of the incarnation... The Creator who Called limitless galaxies into existence ex-nehilo with a word, became a helpless baby, the one who spun the milky way also spit up his mother's milk onto her shoulder, that the infinite embraced our infirmity. If I start to get too much into the spirit of X-mas, I think of the wonder of Christmas and the pull of commercialism generally breaks.

It is the very thought of God becoming human that Muslims believe to be "blasphemous". The thought that God would have sex with a woman and that the child would also be God is incomprehensible. They cannot grasp non-sexual conception or a Triune God consisting of three persons but only one essence. They believe that the Trinity makes Christians polytheistic. (Ironically, most Muslims to not understand the origin of Allah (the Mood God) as the victorious god over a pantheon of other lesser gods, making him the one and only remaining god, but still originating out of a polytheistic cluster of "gods".)

That is why Christmas is so offensive to them. In their eyes, we are celebrating God's immoral sexual relationship with a mere human woman and the creation of another god besides Allah.

I have been pondering how to present the gospel to Muslims without first putting them on the offensive.

for the Great Creator to become part of His own creation is an amazing thing to contemplate.

But He did it to rescue us from eternal death. He earned the legal right to forgive us of our past sins, because of love. And it is our love for Him, along with the power of the Holy Ghost working in us, that gives us victory over those sins that he died to save us from. But that's a lifetime work.

I've heard some stories. Quite recent occurrences. Coming from muslim countries of whole groups meeting in secret to learn about and worship Christ. They don't dare do it openly or they'd be killed. Sometimes it was a radio program that got them started. One of the groups I heard about was started when an angel visited a man and taught him, he gathered his family and friends and taught them what the angel was teaching him. On occasion God sends an angel where men don't dare go. I'm sure that much is happening we don't hear about.

Christmas is a mighty good time to remember His entry into this world, and a good excuse to bring it up to those not so familiar with it. But we need to remember it daily.
Even though the date was a gift from paganism, the significance of the event is what's important.
