Not that it is up to me

Postby Petros » Fri Jun 24, 2016 11:06 am

But for the record - I speak to every English colleague and friend and associate, gathered over several visits; of whom anyone who ever mention Common Market membership and European union told me it was a rotten idea to get in [how do you like them apples, referring to textureless tasteless French-grown so called Golden Delicious dumped on Britain back in the day].

It seems the scales have fallen and the decision to move on out has been made.

My felicitations, and here is to a swift and smooth actual exit. Close the door behind you, s'il vous plait,

Yep, the Scotts are reportedly now considering secession from the UK.

.... AGAIN!

Where's Braveheart (William Wallace) when you need him?

Of course, Wallace was so into independence that I doubt he would have gotten into anything like the EU in the first place. :?

The EU is divided into the "suckors" and the "suckees". The problem is that there are now more "suckors" (those countries that are bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy) that rely on the "suckees" (those countries that are still somewhat solvent) than there are "suckees", that they are all going down together. The situation has become comparable to two fleas sucking the blood out of each other and no dog. :(

Northern Ireland as well. But the Scots and thr Quebecquois have been talking or shouting secession since well before I was born.

Not just the EU. Significant divide in the US as well. So far, here, there is a flea and a dog.

Yesterday afternoon, on the Mark Levin Show, I heard Margaret Thatcher speaking to Parliament and against the idea of joining an EU-type organization (maybe the EU itself) prior to her election as Prime Minister I believe. She has been credited with saying the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples' money.

And, yes, there is definitely a division n this country between what CNN ( mistakenly stated Headline News initially) on Thursday called the elites and the common masses. There is a disconnect between the political class, permanently ensconced in Washington or our state capitals and the working class, regardless of income levels, in this country. The politicians are so insulated they have no idea what it means to work for what one has as opposed to simply taking from the haves to give to the have-nots and themselves as if they've truly earned it.

Whatever anyone says about La Thatcher - and lots of people have said many things - since my face to face with her I have her down as a classy lady. Back in the day everyone I heard from was dead against going European,
