Thanks for that Petros. Im glad your friend is doing well, but I feel for him going through so much.

I hope all I have coming up is a "simple" prostate operation. Im not really that worried about the operation, or the cancer. The prognosis is good for both. I dont look forward to the post op recuperation, pain, catheta for 7-10 days, incontinence, ED, and not being able to lift more than 5 pounds. I plan to spend as much time nude, in bed, studying Hebrew as I can, though Ill do the daily walks as prescribed. Ill keep you posted as the day approaches.

If you are old enough to remember Jack Benny and his money, think of his joke about the stickup man, "Your money or your life." Jack strokes his chin and says, "Let me think about it." In this context it becomes "Your prostate or your life."

Just a quick update. The dr took out my prostate on Monday. Ive been pretty uncomfortable and groggy until this afternoon. I still have 6 holes in my belly that hurt a bit and a cathera which is not very comfotable, but no complaints. Im passed the worst of it. We'll get the prognosis on Monday when the lab work is done. Thanks for those who prayed back when and Id appreciate one more prayer for good results. Thanks to all of you.

Thank you all for your prayers. Im recovering well and in almost no pain. There were three post op issues I had on my prayer list. One was thst they get all the cancer, which, from the lab tests, looks almost certain. The next was to get past the incontinence. Im making good progress but it could be months. Unfortunately until this is solved I cant go nude, I cant even sleep nude. So, though this is a small thing next to getting rid of the cancer, it is a grief to me. The final thing is that my ability to have an erection return. The doctor has me on a regular regime of generic Viagra that should help, but once again could take months and has a 40% chance of never returnibg. Im counting on prayer to improve that probability.

Thanks again for your prayers, and for being the kind of folks I can share more openly than I ever could at church.
Blessings,
John

Father thank you for the healing that has happened so far, and I ask that you continue the process. I ask that you give John the blessings he has asked. Use this time to continue to strengthen his faith!

No pain is a good start. Will be praying for a return of the other two. I once heard that Augustine is said to have prayed, “Lord, give me patience and give me Continence... but not in that order.” God bless you brother
